Description
paintings – Golden Depth – a gold run between turquoise and ice
Wall art trickles a thin gold run down the seam between a saturated turquoise block on the left and a wide ice-blue plane on the right: decorative painting making a whole composition out of three elements and nothing else.
Technique and texture
The turquoise field is laid dense and even, with visible vertical strokes and a few scratches down to the ground. The right-hand plane is painted in thin translucent coats of white and ice blue, scored with barely visible lines drawn by a sharp edge. The gold went on last and fluid, and was allowed to find its own way down the canvas.
The motif
A dark brown-burgundy band takes the upper left corner and cuts the turquoise off from the top edge. The turquoise reaches from that band to about four fifths of the height and then gives way to the lighter ground. The gold begins at the top as a spilled arc, gathers into a single thread and runs almost to the lower edge. The right field is brightest at its centre and passes into a warm grey toward the foot.
Setting and placement
A cold turquoise-blue range with one gold accent is well suited to a bathroom, a bedroom or an entrance. The gold thread finds brass and gilt already in a room, and the tall proportion lets it run its full length.

Golden Depth for a tall, narrow wall
Golden Depth is painted in 15 upright sizes, from 30 x 50 to 180 x 305 cm. Its tall, slim format with a turquoise block and a gold run belongs on narrow walls: 30 x 50 or 40 x 70 cm between doors or in a bathroom alcove, 50 x 85 cm beside a wardrobe, and 70 x 120 cm above a console about 100 cm wide in an entrance, roughly two thirds of its width. A high stairwell wall takes 90 x 155 or 100 x 170 cm, so the gold thread runs its full length.
Choose YES under Stretcher and the canvas with its ice-blue plane arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang. A frame for Golden Depth is picked in the Frame menu, which starts at Without frame. Delivery of Golden Depth takes 15–45 days. The fluid gold found its own way down the canvas, as the painting is hand-painted on canvas, not printed.
Golden Depth: before you order

For an alcove or the wall between doors in a bathroom choose 30 x 50 or 40 x 70 cm; the turquoise and ice blue sit well with tiles.
Does Golden Depth arrive ready to hang?
Yes, if you choose YES under Stretcher, the canvas with its turquoise block and gold thread is stretched on a wooden stretcher before it ships.
Does Golden Depth have a frame?
Only if you pick one; the Frame menu starts at Without frame, and a frame can be matched to the gold thread.
Can I order Golden Depth in a size that is not listed?
If none of the 15 sizes between 30 x 50 and 180 x 305 cm suits you, ask us about a painting made to order with the same gold run.
