Technique & Texture
The red-brown rounded mass is at the upper centre and carries a solid black oval at the lower right, and an upright terracotta-orange wedge stands left of centre over a black gap, with thin white contour lines. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the planes are flat and decisive, the strokes visible.
The Motif
A beige plaster column at the far left carries white dots and dashed marks, a white vertical strip is right of centre, and an olive-green column at the right edge carries a khaki patch with short black stitch-marks and small circular scribbles at the lower right. A calm dialogue of warm and cool planes, where each colour gets its own space.

Size, stretcher and delivery
Green and Terracotta comes in 14 square sizes, from 40 x 40 to 180 x 180 cm. A good rule of thumb is about two thirds of the width of the furniture below it: over a 200 cm sofa that means 130 x 130 or 140 x 140 cm, above a 150 cm sideboard 100 x 100 cm, and a narrow hallway wall takes 60 x 60 or 70 x 70 cm. Choose YES under Stretcher and the canvas arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher bar, ready to hang; a frame is optional, and the Frame menu starts at Without frame. Delivery is 15–45 days, as shown next to each size.
The first photograph shows the painting with an optional thin gold frame above a dark green chair, and the second photograph hangs it over a green velvet armchair. It is hand-painted on canvas by an artist, not a print.
Why does this painting work so well on a wall?
Green and Terracotta calms a room and warms it at the same time. The cool mint plane in the centre gives the wall a fresh, airy tone, while the terracotta and the red-brown mass bring in warmth, so the painting never feels cold or clinical. With no figures and no story, it does not wear out: one day the black oval catches the eye, another day the olive column at the right edge. The square format sits easily with wooden furniture, house plants, green velvet and cognac leather, which makes it a natural fit for retro and Scandinavian-style homes.
How is it painted by hand?
The painting is hand-painted by our painters, with a brush on canvas. The large flat planes go down first, then the thin white contour lines, and last the small dashed strokes and dots on the green plane and the columns. Those brush marks are exactly what a print cannot show: in raking light you can see where the paint stands above the weave. Because everything is done by hand, each canvas comes out slightly different from the last. Before dispatch we send you a photograph of the finished painting to approve.
Rolled, stretched or framed?
We ship Green and Terracotta the way you choose: as a rolled canvas, stretched on a wooden stretcher bar, or framed. Stretching and framing are done in our workshop in Slovenia. Rolled makes sense if a local framer will finish it; choose YES under Stretcher and it arrives ready to hang the moment the parcel is open; a frame is added from the Frame menu. The flat planes of this design hold up well unframed, with the canvas edge on show, while the thin gold frame in the first photograph picks up the terracotta and the red-brown mass.
How should I hang it and look after it?
Put the centre of the painting at about 150 cm from the floor, the eye level of a standing adult. Above a sofa or a chest of drawers, leave 20 to 30 cm between the furniture and the bottom edge so the two read as one. A dry soft cloth or a soft dusting brush is all the care it needs; do not use water or cleaning products. Keep it away from direct sun, radiators and a damp bathroom.
Does it make a good gift?
It is an easy gift because the smaller sizes fit almost any wall: 50 x 50 or 60 x 60 cm on a stretcher is ready to hang straight out of the box. If you do not know the recipient’s room, a gift voucher is the safer choice, so they pick the painting and the size themselves.
