Description

A red-orange flower in close-up — glowing, rounded petals with gold-lit edges open before a silver-grey, richly textured background. The centre is dark with a gold accent, giving the flower a burning, volcanic energy. The format and composition are identical to ‘Jewelry I’, but the palette is entirely different — whereas that one is cool and gold-yellow, this one is fiery and intense. The background, with visible palette-knife strokes, gives the painting physical presence and depth. A modern painting on canvas for a space unafraid to be noticed — elegant in its decisiveness.
