Description

Green Depth – a curtain of green rain over a fiery floor
A dense curtain of vertical streams: turquoise, sea green, jade and blue fill roughly four fifths of the canvas like rain or waterfalls, and right of centre pale green columns of light rise among them. The texture is heavy, plaster-like – the drips and ridges of the relief truly catch the light.
Technique & Texture
This is a hand-painted painting on canvas with a strikingly sculptural surface: crusty reliefs, dripped knots and vertical furrows alternate in an unrepeatable rhythm. Cream-gold patches at the upper left, upper right and the middle of the left side – the last with an orange core – warm the cool field, and two golden columns rise at the lower left and by the right of centre.
The Motif
The lowest fifteen percent erupts in warmth: an orange-red band with cream and gold-ochre veins, broken by dark navy-black patches, out of which a dark dripping silhouette climbs at the left of centre. Two pure cobalt-blue patches – at the left edge and the upper right – hold the balance.
Styling & Placement
Deep, calming wall art on canvas for living rooms, bedrooms and relaxation spaces; the upright format emphasises the falling of the streams.

Size, stretcher and delivery time
Green Depth is a portrait-format painting in 18 sizes, from 40 x 55 to 180 x 255 cm. In a hallway or beside a door choose 50 x 70 or 60 x 85 cm, above a narrow chest of about 100 cm 70 x 100 cm, on a tall living-room wall 100 x 140 or 110 x 155 cm, and for a wall that should carry the whole room the larger sizes up to 180 x 255 cm. YES under Stretcher means the canvas is stretched on a wooden stretcher bar and hangs without a frame; you can choose a frame separately. Delivery takes 15–45 days.
The first photograph shows the finished painting from the front on the easel, and the second photograph, taken from the side, reveals the raised, dripping paint and the edge of the canvas. The drips and furrows are real paint, as the painting is hand-painted on canvas, not printed.
Why does Green Depth draw the eye?
With Green Depth it feels as if rain or a waterfall is falling into the room. The turquoise, sea-green and jade streams cool and calm the space, while the orange-red band at the foot gives it a warm base, so the painting is neither cold nor loud. Being upright, it does well on the wall beside a door, in a hallway or next to a tall cabinet, and on a large living-room wall, at a bigger size, it works like a window onto green. The greens go with plants, wood, stone and dark blue fabrics.
How is the relief surface made?
Green Depth is hand-painted by our painters with a dense, sculptural build-up of paint. The vertical streams run from top to bottom, with crusty reliefs, dripped knots and furrows between them that cast shadows in side light. Cream-gold patches and two gold columns sit among the streams, and a warm orange-red band forms at the foot. The second photograph, taken from the side, shows exactly that raised, dripping paint and the edge of the canvas. Because the drips and furrows are made by hand, the rhythm differs on every canvas. When the painting is finished we send you a photograph of it, and it ships once you have confirmed.
Rolled, stretched or framed?
We ship Green Depth the way you choose: rolled, stretched on a wooden stretcher bar, or framed. It is stretched, and framed if you wish, at the workshop in Slovenia. With YES under Stretcher it is ready to hang and, as the second photograph shows, looks finished without a frame; rolled makes sense if a framer near you will finish it. A slim dark frame brings out the green field, pale wood the orange foot.
How should I hang and look after it?
Hang the upright painting with its centre at eye level, about 150 cm from the floor; in a hallway, place it so you see it straight on from the door. Because the relief catches light, a lamp shining on it from the side helps. Do not rub the dripped paint: lift dust with a soft dry brush, without water or cleaners, and keep the painting away from radiators.
Is Green Depth a good gift?
For anyone who loves nature and green tones it makes a lovely housewarming gift. The smaller upright 40 x 55 and 50 x 70 cm sizes fit a hallway or the space beside a door. If you do not know the wall, give a gift voucher.
