Technique & Texture
The blocks are plastered in stucco neutrals, and thin scratched diagonal lines cross their joints over the upper centre – the only element of motion in a calm architecture. This is a hand-painted work of art – each block has its own grain and its own edge.
The Motif
At the right edge stands a second black block, and beneath it a tiny pale turquoise sliver surprises – the smallest and most precious colour of the painting. The lower right corner is closed by a slate grey-blue wedge, and above right of centre a cream-white block.

We ship Fields and Stripes the way you choose: rolled, stretched on a wooden stretcher bar, or framed. Fields and Stripes is stretched and framed in our workshop in Slovenia. For the long sizes, from 200 x 100 cm upward, a stretched canvas is the practical choice, because a long roll is hard to stretch yourself at home. The slim silver-grey frame in the first photograph gives the painting an elegant edge, while unframed the blocks run to the edges of the canvas.
How should I hang it and care for it?
Put the centre of the painting at eye level, about 150 cm from the floor; above a sofa or bed, keep the bottom edge 20 to 30 cm over the back. Hang a wide format on two hooks so it stays level, and check it with a spirit level. Clean the plastered surface only lightly with a dry soft brush, no water or cleaners.
