Description
Golden Vertical – a ray through the deep blue
Vertical combed strands of deep navy over cream white – and through them one single thin golden line that runs unbroken the full height, right of centre, like a ray of light through the dark.
Technique & Texture
The whole canvas is built from thick vertical ribbed strokes laid with the knife; where the blue dries over the white, cracked skins form. This is a hand-painted work of art – the golden line slips unbroken between the blue strands, which is possible only in a single stroke.
The Motif
The blue mass has two lobes – an upper block on the left and at the centre, and a lower one shifted to the right – and between them the canvas pinches at mid-height like an hourglass. A cream-white column holds the left third, and white gaps open at the middle of the right side as well.
Styling & Placement
An elegant modern painting for living rooms, offices and dining rooms; the navy gives it depth, the golden line a single, precise light. Excellent beside dark wood and brass.

Golden Vertical by a dining table, in a hallway or on a stairwell
Golden Vertical is painted in 16 upright sizes, from 40 x 63 to 200 x 319 cm. A narrow wall beside a wardrobe or a door takes 50 x 79 cm, and above a console 90 cm wide, 60 x 95 cm covers about two thirds of its width. For the wall by a round dining table choose 80 x 127 or 90 x 143 cm, for a hallway 70 x 111 cm, and for a tall stairwell 120 x 191 or 140 x 223 cm.
The first photograph shows the painting behind a round stone table with wooden chairs against a grey wall, and the second photograph shows it on the grey wall of a hallway in a thin black frame. That frame is optional: for Golden Vertical the Frame menu starts at “Without frame”. Pick YES under Stretcher and the canvas arrives on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang. Delivery takes 15–45 days. The ribbed navy strokes and the gold line are hand-painted with a knife, so Golden Vertical is not a print.
