Description

Golden Vein – a geological cross-section in grey

A single horizontal mineral vein through a calm grey field: it crosses the canvas slightly above centre, its left end a dark rust-umber earth with white scratches and pale lichen patches, and from there the vein turns to hammered gold.

Technique & Texture

The golden part runs to the right edge, threaded with grey veins and cracks, its edges fraying into the grey. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the gold is hammered in leaf, and the earth carries a real rough texture.

The Motif

Above and below the vein stretches a grey plastered field, slightly warmer at the bottom, with faint drips along the base. A cross-section through rock, where earth and gold meet on a single layer – a quiet geological tale.

Golden Vein: a landscape canvas for dining rooms, sofas and beds

Golden Vein is painted in 16 landscape sizes, from 60 x 35 to 320 x 175 cm. Over a 180 cm dining table, 120 x 65 cm covers about two thirds of its length, and over a 200 cm sofa choose 130 x 72 or 140 x 80 cm. Above a bed 160–180 cm wide the grey ground with its gold band works at 120 x 65 cm, a long hallway takes 200 x 110 cm, and a large empty wall even 240 x 130 cm.

Li ho trovati per caso e sono davvero felice di averli scoperti! Sono artisti che realizzano dipinti su commissione, proprio come li desideri, e io ho trovato esattamente il quadro che cercavo. Non volevo una semplice stampa, ma un quadro vero e vivo.

Sono stati gentilissimi nel consigliarmi il dipinto, le dimensioni più adatte alla parete, anche con delle simulazioni, e la scelta della cornice.
