Wall art crowns a single tree with thousands of round loads in cream, mint, green and ochre until the canopy spans almost the whole width of a panoramic canvas: modern painting that is a field of relief dots at close range and a soft mass from further off.
Technique and texture
Every leaf is one droplet of dense colour pressed down with the blade. Trunk and roots are painted in dark brown and black strokes with the structure of bark left visible in them. The ground is rubbed out in horizontal bands so the canvas shows through it.
The motif
The trunk is short and strong and the branches spread outward from it like an umbrella. The canopy is densest at the centre and thins toward the edges into single dots; its lower part is darker, mint and emerald, while the top is almost white. A gold-ochre band with a finely pressed texture runs along the foot and sets the tree on the ground.
Setting and placement
The canopy runs almost the full width, so it needs a wall that does not cut it short at either end. The warm sandy ground agrees with timber and beige tones, and a texture this dense deserves light from one side to bring the relief up.
