Wall art patinates an upright canvas into two large, softly bounded fields of blue-green and grey-blue divided by a darker horizontal seam just below the middle: decorative painting with no motif at all, closer to a piece of repeatedly repainted wall.
Technique and texture
The paint is laid thick with the blade and then smoothed, so cracks, furrows and tool impressions stay visible. In places the upper layer is scraped away and a darker ground looks through. The edges of the canvas are darkened while the centre of each field is lightest, which gives the picture a natural vignette that pulls the eye in.
The motif
The upper field is pale mint and whitish, with a dense relief of small cracks. The lower is cooler and greyer, worked in wider and quieter strokes. The seam between them is not a straight line but an uneven dark band that thins on the left and almost disappears. The corners are the darkest passages and turn grey-green at the upper left and lower right.
Setting and placement
A palette this restrained belongs where colour must not dominate — a bedroom, a waiting area, a working corner. It goes with white, timber and concrete furniture and with pale grey walls.
