Nude 2 – one line across red and gold
Wall art traces a single unbroken dark line and makes a turned back out of it on a red-gold field — modern painting resting almost all of its weight on one gesture that was never corrected.
Technique and texture
Broad vertical passes make the ground, fusing into a smooth plane in places and leave a dry scratching trail in others. The change from red into yellow is carried without a hard border, so the lower part looks lit from inside. The contour was drawn in one sweep and nowhere reworked.
The motif
The figure is given by outline alone — no face, no detail, no shadow. Short blue and black strokes to the left and behind read as openings in a coloured wall. Because the contour is continuous, the eye follows one path from the top to the lower edge, and small yellow rectangles run down the right side in a vertical file.
Setting and placement
Red and gold at this saturation want a neutral wall with no pattern on it, and they will take over anything less. The upright format measures out a narrow section, which is where it belongs — a bedroom, a hallway, a dressing room.
