Description

Cosmic Vortex – half-rings of embers around a teal core
A molten vortex with its core on the edge: a smooth teal disc sits on the very left edge of the canvas at mid-height, half cut off – so the rings around it are half-rings opening to the right; not a target trapped in the centre, but an open vortex. A dark ring with a woody, veined texture wraps tightly around the disc.
Technique & Texture
The arcs alternate: orange and vermilion ones with fine comb furrows, gold-ochre and copper ones, separated by thin teal channels that echo the core. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the relief ridges carry cream highlights, and most dramatic of all is the serrated, flame-like edge with which the last arc cuts into the right field.
The Motif
The right field is crusty, molten lava in orange and amber; at the upper right the scene is closed by a deep night blue-black field with a glistening turquoise wet patch in the very corner and a rusty, crumbling transition between darkness and fire.
