Border of Worlds – two worlds along one line
Two worlds, divided at about fifty-six percent of the height – a pale cream plaster sky with incised drawings above, a dark charcoal-brown earth below – with an eventful border between them: the cream plaster carries a warm peach hint at the centre, into which marks are incised – a hooked line at the upper left, an S-shaped scribble at the mid-right and a long diagonal scratch at the right.
Technique & Texture
Along the border a furrowed dark skyline of knife blocks rises, and right of centre small vertical posts stick up. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – a white bird-like smudge sits just below the border, left of centre, and a pale trace falls a little further right.
The Motif
The lower zone is a charcoal-brown knife mass, blocky and cracked, fading toward the lower left corner with thin trickles. Two clearly separated zones, where the spontaneous lines in the pale zone read like sketches or poetry written in the mud – the raw honesty of two worlds.
