Technique & Texture
Layered blue-teal impasto ridges circle the eye, and white foam and spray burst along its right edge. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – leaf-gold ribbons ride the outer left flank in a long arc and continue along the lower curl.
The Motif
Deep navy-black accents lie under the lower curl and at the lower right, and the darkest wedge anchors the bottom. Smaller gold flecks strew the top edge and the upper right crest – a spiral arc of sea force, caught in a single stroke.
