Description
Golden Sunflowers – four heads of gold and shadow
Four sunflowers in a strict gold-brown monochrome: no yellow, no green – only gold, bronze and shadow. The flower heads are not botany but relief objects: dark, gnarled seed discs with engraved swirls and spiky collars of golden petals.
Technique & Texture
The heads are deeply raised in relief, while the background is smoothly brushed dark gold with a vertical sheen. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the engraved swirls in the seed discs are cut into fresh paint, each one different.
The Motif
The heads are arranged in pairs: upper left and upper right – the largest, tilted – and at mid-height left and right; all rest on curved, wiry stems. The lower half of the canvas is a weave of engraved stems and grass scratched into the golden ground, which darkens toward the bottom almost to black.
Styling & Placement
Luxurious, restrained wall art for dining rooms, living rooms and reception areas with gold or wood tones. The upright format suits narrow walls beautifully.
