Description

Sun and Moon – two materials, one body
On a sky-blue plaster ground floats one single large, shield-like organic form, slightly tilted and divided into two materials: the left half is cream white, thickly smoothed with the knife – the moon – the right copper-gold, crusted and glinting – the sun.
Technique & Texture
The blue ground has a fine plaster grain and darkens gently toward the corners, while the form is physically laid onto it. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the cream and the golden half are two real, different materials, not two colours.
The Motif
The halves do not merge: at the lower centre a narrow notch divides them, through which the blue of the ground shines – a thin night between sun and moon. It is precisely this slit that gives the form its tension and the title its meaning: two celestial bodies sharing one body.
Styling & Placement
Symbolic wall art for bedrooms, living rooms and meditative corners; the blue calms, the gold warms, and the cream half ties the painting to light walls.
