A single white cracked form stands at the centre like a pillar or a vase: from a narrow waist it widens toward the top into a trumpet-like mouth, and its right outline curls outward at two thirds of the height – the gesture that gives the rigid form its character.
Technique & Texture
The form is outlined with thin, pencil-like double lines and filled with heavy cracks. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the cracked crust of the white is a real layer that gains the relief of old stone in side light.
The Motif
At its sides it is flanked by teal panels: the left is brightest at the top and sinks below two thirds into near-black, the right darkens downward into deep navy blackness – both threaded with cracks. Across the bottom closes a dark heavy band that locks the form in like a pedestal in a vitrine.
