Description

Blue and Beige – four colours in a quiet architecture of patina
A calm block composition of four colours: a graphite-navy-blue rectangle fills roughly the upper half of the left side, a silver blue-grey field lies at the upper centre and right, sandy beige planes – the largest warm mass – occupy the centre and middle right, and two white zones rest at the lower left and in the lower right corner.
Technique & Texture
The whole surface is deliberately worn: chalky rubbed transitions, fine black dotted spattering in the lower central beige plane, pale scratches and eroded, never-straight edges between the fields. This is a hand-painted work of art – it imitates the patina of concrete-like or stone-like materials, yet every scratch was made by hand.
The Motif
The composition reads like a floor plan or an old wall: cool weight at the upper left, a warm centre, a bright rest below. Nothing shouts; the painting stands in the room like a well-tailored piece of furniture.
Styling & Placement
An ideal modern painting on canvas for entrance halls, hallways, offices and minimalist living rooms; the tall upright format suits narrow walls beautifully.
