Description

Blue Traces – an artist’s diary on canvas
A white-cream impasto page scattered with blue and grey pencil-fine scribbles, dashes and hatch clusters – a leaf from an artist’s diary: a long blue horizontal line runs near the top, and beneath its left end scribbles tangle.
Technique & Texture
A blue fan, like a palm leaf, is at the lower left of centre, a solid blue bar lies to the left with tiny ruler-tick marks beneath it, and a dark hatch triangle is at the left middle. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – a dark fly-like knot sits right of centre, and soft blue washes drift down the right column.
The Motif
Loose scribbles run along the bottom edge with two hatch squares in the lower right corner, and the ground is a cream impasto in soft dabs with a warmer beige breath left of centre. An artist’s diary, where the sketched lines read like the notes of a day, translated into the airiness of colour.
Styling & Placement
A gentle painting on canvas for bedrooms, living rooms and offices; the blue traces draw the eye, the cream ground calms the room. Wall art for quiet, creative spaces.
