Flower of Passion – red branches out of a black core
Wall art branches a red form upward out of an almost black core at the lower edge, thinning toward the top into separate points while the ground behind it moves from brown into a glowing gold-yellow — modern painting that never decides whether it is a branch or a flame.
Technique and texture
The red was laid in transparent running layers, let down the canvas and allowed to find its own branching path. The core is the opposite: dense and opaque, built from dark layers added last. The ground is painted thin and smoothed, so the branching reads against it the way it would against lit glass.
The motif
The points rise like fire while the joints divide like wood, and the picture holds both readings without settling. The core is the darkest place on the canvas and it keeps the whole form anchored at the bottom. Toward the upper edges the red thins to orange and disappears, so the form appears to continue past the canvas.
Setting and placement
Heat and contrast at this level need a neutral wall and some clear space, or the room ends up arguing with the picture. Hang it where a single strong accent is expected and wanted rather than where it has to share attention.
