One of the last works
The painting is among Schiele’s final works: he died in October 1918, aged only twenty-eight, in the Spanish-influenza pandemic, and the portrait is reported by some sources to have been left unfinished.

Where it is
The painting is now at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, which acquired it in 1954.
