This oil on canvas was created in 1876 and shows two figures, a woman and a man, seated in the center and right side of this painting. A man with a hat on his head stares to the right, while a woman in formal dress has a blank gaze directed downwards. The oil on canvas represents the increasing social isolation in Paris during the otherwise rapid progress of the country during this period.
