The kitchen and dining room are where family and friends gather at the table, so cheerful, warm paintings work best there: still lifes with fruit, flowers in a vase, Cézanne’s still lifes and Arcimboldo’s heads made of fruit and vegetables. Each one is hand-painted on canvas. Classic and modern still lifes are also collected on our still life paintings page.

How to choose

  • Above the dining table: the painting should be narrower than the table, about two thirds of its length.
  • In the kitchen: hang it away from the hob and the sink, where there is steam and grease.
  • Subject: fruit, vegetables and flowers connect with the table; warm colours bring appetite and good mood.

Frequently asked questions

Is a canvas painting suitable for a kitchen?

Yes, as long as it hangs away from the hob, steam and sink. Dust it with a soft, dry cloth.

What paintings suit a dining room?

Still lifes, flowers in a vase and Arcimboldo are classics. One landscape-format painting above the table looks calmer than several small ones.

How big should the painting above the table be?

About two thirds of the table’s length. Each painting lists the sizes you can choose from.

Can I hang a canvas painting in the bathroom?

We advise against it: humidity and steam damage the canvas and the paint.

Every painting is hand-painted on canvas, in oil or acrylic depending on the piece. Most are painted to order, and some are in stock. Before dispatch we send you a photo of the finished painting. You receive it rolled, stretched on a 2.5 cm stretcher or framed; stretching and framing are done in our workshop in Slovenia.
