Description
London, the Houses of Parliament in the Fog was painted in 1904. The towers rise as a dark silhouette while the sun forces an opening through the fog and falls on the water as a narrow bright band. The painter worked the series from the terrace of a hospital opposite, at the same hour each day.
The original is oil on canvas, 81.5 × 92.5 cm. It is held by the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, accession number RF 2007.
